Russia still denies attacking civilian targets in its war of aggression in Ukraine. Now, however, Ukraine is again reporting the shelling of educational institutions. A house is also hit. A total of five people are injured.

According to the authorities, a university building in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv was severely damaged when a Russian missile hit it. A security guard was injured there, the prosecutor’s office in Kharkiv said. When another rocket hit near a residential building, four people were injured, it said. The investigators published images that reportedly showed destruction at the university. They announced that a war crimes case had been launched. Accordingly, there were no military installations nearby.

The authorities also reported new shelling from the Russian side in the southern Ukrainian city of Cherson. A school building caught fire. The Russians did not stop destroying educational institutions, the military administration said. So there were no injuries there. There were also reports of Russian shelling from the Sumy and Donetsk regions.

The war, which has been going on for almost a year, has repeatedly hit civilian infrastructure, although Russia claims that it only attacks military targets. According to the UN, more than 7,000 civilians have been killed since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24.

Ukraine keeps demanding more and more modern anti-aircraft systems from the West to intercept Russian missiles. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, soldiers have been sent to France and Italy to be trained on the Samp/T air defense system. Both countries want to deliver the system to Ukraine. Samp/T is an air defense system jointly developed by France and Italy since the early 2000s. It is considered flexible and effective for defense against aircraft and missiles.
