Attend a surprise film premiere? We tell you everything about Operation Coup de Coeur Surprise!

Do you like discovering films in preview? Do you love surprises? Want to broaden your horizons? The AFCAE’s Coup de Cœur Surprise operation and its blind cinema sessions should please you!

Here is a concept that should appeal to curious moviegoers in search of originality and emotion! Once a month, take part in a surprise session and discover a new film in preview without having any idea what awaits you. The title, the director, the cast, the synopsis or even the genre… Everything remains secret until the start of the screening!

This initiative launched in 2021 by AFCAE, the Association Française des Cinémas d’Art et d’Essai, has thus enabled many spectators in recent months to enjoy feature films such as La Famille before their cinema release. Asada, Armageddon Time, Aftersun or The Quiet Girl. A very nice program, therefore, which can only make your mouth water for the months to come.

From Monday 11 and Tuesday 12 September, and throughout the 2023/2024 season, you will be able to attend one or more screenings of Operation Coup de Cœur Surprise in one of the participating cinemas, which you can find by here for the September sessions. In 2 years, the project has already given rise to the screening of 65 films to an intrigued public.

This real event set up by the AFCAE is the perfect opportunity for spectators to broaden their horizons with works that are sometimes far from their centers of interest and yet very successful, which they will discover before anyone else in the conditions always optimal of the movie theatre, all in the playful form of surprise.

So, ready to give it a try?
