Auchan: a batch of “superior ham” recalled due to a labeling error

The packaging of these Auchan brand products has an incorrect use-by date.

Be careful if you have recently purchased Auchan brand ham. A very specific batch has been the subject of a recall since Friday, November 18: the “superior ham with rind” sold in packs of four slices. According to Rappel Conso, it was an error concerning the expiry date (DLC), indicated on the packaging, which led to this procedure throughout France.

Specifically, the lot affected by the recall is 294306 and bears the barcode 3596710480630. With a DLC set for November 25, this product was sold between November 3 and 18 before being pulled from the shelves.

The government site recommends not to consume the meat in question, to bring it back to its point of sale or to destroy it. The date for the end of the procedure being set for December 25, potential consumers still have several weeks to be reimbursed for their purchase. Rappel Conso also indicates that this labeling problem could be a source of “bacteriological hazard” for those who would eat this product.
