After Volkswagen, which plans to soon market an ID.2all around €25,000, Audi has confirmed the upcoming release of a new entry-level electric SUV, probably with the aim of countering the upcoming release of the future Tesla Model 2 (provisional name).
This won’t hit the roads until 2026 and, according to the manufacturer’s nomenclature, it should be called the Q2 e-tron. For the moment, no details relating to the price, the technical characteristics or even the autonomy have been revealed. We know, however, that as part of parallel developments with the Volkswagen group, this new SUV will be based on the new MEB Entry platform.
This platform should allow the installation on the front axle of an electric motor powered by batteries whose power would range from 50 kWh to 80 kWh, for a range of around 400 km. This Audi Q2 e-tron would therefore have nothing to do with its namesake marketed in China, the Audi Q2L, which is based on an elongated Q2 base (4.23 m). A vehicle powered by a 136 hp electric motor powered by a small 39.7 kWh battery, which allows just 200 km WLTP.
Given the premium positioning of the brand with the rings, the price of the Q2 e-tron should be between €30,000 and €40,000, well below the Audi Q4 e-tron, whose price starts at €53,000. .
