RTL has announced the candidates for the new "Let's Dance" season. Barack Obama's half-sister Auma Obama is also there.

The Kenyan Germanist and sociologist Auma Obama (60, "And Then Life Happens") can be seen on "Let's Dance" from the end of February. The half-sister of the former US President Barack Obama (59) has already told RTL what she is particularly looking forward to when she takes part in the dance show.

"Main thing is to have fun"

"I'm really looking forward to working with a lot of great people," said Obama. She is simply looking forward to being there and wants to enjoy "the whole experience". Can she dance well? "I'm like the people who sing in the shower," jokes the 60-year-old. "I think I can dance well, but we'll see if that's really the case in the days."

She has "a lot of respect" for her participation – especially for the actual dancing. "The quality is very, very high and the people dance very, very well," said Obama. She hope she can keep up. "Normally I wouldn't have the courage to take part in a competition like this," she explains. Although she is "a passionate dancer, I prefer to dance in competition with the children from my 'Sauti Kuu' foundation in Alego / Kenya". There it's "about celebrating the best dancer and although I have no chance against the children, I like to dance with them". She says "it's great fun to be there and that's how I want to do it with 'Let's Dance' – the main thing is that it's fun."
