Lhe New Democrats party of Aurélien Taché has finally been integrated into Europe Écologie-Les Verts and will participate in the congress, the ecologist deputy announced to Agence France-Presse on Sunday October 23, confirming information from the Parisian.

The arrival of the deputy of Val-d’Oise and around 250 members – out of the approximately 600 of the New Democrats party created in 2020 and called to die out – was validated during an electronic vote of the Federal Council of EELV last Sunday. The resumption of seniority will allow them to participate in the congress which will be held on November 26 and December 10.

“I will join the motion of Sophie Bussière, the Ecologist Spring”, signed by the former presidential candidate Yannick Jadot, but also by the former number 2 of EELV, Sandra Regol, declared the deputy who sits within the environmental group in the National Assembly.

Joining a party that “really prepares for the exercise of power”

It is a question, defended Aurélien Taché, of “making this refoundation of the party that we have been waiting for a while”, to create the conditions for “a great ecological party, a party which is opening up, a mass party who really prepares himself for the exercise of power”.

He also pleaded for “a popular ecology”, which speaks of “ecological prosperity and shared sobriety rather than degrowth”. The motion of the previous management, led by Julien Bayou before his resignation in September, is led by the municipal councilor of Hénin-Beaumont (Pas-de-Calais) Marine Tondelier.

At the end of September, Aurélien Taché had asked for the merger process to be interrupted, observing “a lot of reluctance from the current management”. He had then evoked “a reflex of shrinkage at the approach of the congress”.
