What makes the crypto stamps so special?

This exclusive art card is a strictly limited trading card equipped with various security features and an NFC chip. In addition, it can be broken in the middle. The right side shows an art print, while the left side can be used as a traditional postage stamp.

Bridging the gap between the traditional and the digital world with classic stamps

The first issue of the CSA is a modern reinterpretation of the 1851 Merkur newspaper stamps, which originally appeared in four color values. Unfortunately, there are only very few copies of the Red Mercury today, which makes it one of the rarest stamps in Europe and by far the most valuable stamp in Austria.

Josef Anxmann, an engraver, designed the original stamps in the 19th century. Encode Graphics designed the new 2022 edition together with Ari Pratama and PR1MAL CYPHER, a well-known Austrian digital artist and NFT expert. The new special stamp block with a nominal value of 3.70 euros was issued 150,000 times. It is available in all post offices at onlineshop.post.at.

In order to promote the acceptance of NFTs in Austria and worldwide, Austrian Post is giving away the block of special stamps free of charge to buyers of the CSA Mystery Boxes. In addition, each box contains four NFT collectibles and a limited edition commemorative stamp.

The CSA Mystery Boxes will be available exclusively on July 22nd Tokapi.com be available for 500 euros per box. However, you don’t have to be a blockchain expert to take part in the promotion. Tokapi makes it possible to use a credit card or pay via instant transfer without having to create a wallet.

Crypto stamp art is just the beginning

This issue marks the beginning of the newly developed Crypto Stamp Art project. It forms a digital collector’s item with a physical counterpart, with a focus on collecting digital artworks and collaborating with the greats of the NFT scene.

The Austrian Post relies on new interpretations and has already been able to attract other internationally renowned artists who will implement future editions of Crypto Stamp Art.

Patricia Liebermann, Head of Philately at Österreichische Post AG, supports the forthcoming kick-off event:

A generation change has taken place in collecting. Younger people are using NFTs to make digital collectibles truly valuable and unique. This is the perfect opportunity for us to bridge the gap between physical and digital collecting with crypto stamp art that appeals to all generations.

Patricia Liebermann, Head of Philately at Austrian Post

Daniel Lenikus, CEO of Tokapi, also commented on the partnership with Austrian Post:

The blockchain is changing the world even faster than the Internet and usually involves considerable complexity. We remove these obstacles. NFTs should be an inclusive technology that anyone can use, not limited to a select few with deep blockchain knowledge. At Tokapi, we offer collectors the easiest way to buy digital assets, helping to onboard a new wave of collectors.
