Automotive equipment manufacturers: Matthias Zink (Schaeffler) new president of Clepa

(AOF) – Clepa, the European Association of Automotive Suppliers, announces that it has elected Matthias Zink as its new president for a two-year term starting in January 2024. Matthias Zink is Managing Director of Automotive Technologies at the German supplier Schaeffler: he will succeed Thorsten Muschal, who has chaired Clepa since 2020. “The regulatory framework must remain ambitious but flexible in order to enable continuous innovation and maintain Europe’s competitiveness,” said Matthias Zink.

“Clepa represents more than 3,000 companies, from multinationals to SMEs, that provide cutting-edge components and innovative technologies for safe, smart and sustainable mobility across Europe. As the largest private investor in R&D, with 30 billion euros invested each year, the automotive subcontracting sector is essential to enable the green and digital transition in Europe”, recalled Matthias Zink.
