A fatal accident occurred on Thursday afternoon on the Zettersfeld: a 74-year-old skier came off slope number 4 in the East Tyrolean ski area.
It is unclear why the 74-year-old went over the right edge of the slope. In any case, he fell almost 30 meters over 30 degree steep terrain that was already snow-free. The victim remained motionless. Skiers immediately rushed to help, the piste rescue and the emergency doctor were also quickly on the spot. But for the skier, any help came too late. The 74-year-old died at the scene of the accident. The Innsbruck public prosecutor ordered an autopsy.
