Early in the morning, a ten-kilometer-long traffic jam formed in front of the Gotthard north portal on the A2 motorway.
The motorcade is currently nine kilometers long with a waiting time of one hour and 30 minutes.
The Touring Club of Switzerland (TCS) cites traffic congestion as the reason for the traffic jam between Erstfeld and Göschenen in the canton of Uri, as it writes on the short message service X, formerly Twitter.
