The 38-year-old went on a ski tour to the summit of the Hauser Kaibling with friends. On the descent, he triggered a slab of snow and was swept away by the snow masses for around 200 meters. However, due to his avalanche airbag, he was not completely buried. However, the winter athlete suffered serious injuries in the knee area and had to be flown to the DKH Schladming with the rescue helicopter. Ski tourers alerted the mountain rescue service. At the time the alarm was raised, it was not clear whether anyone had been buried by the avalanche. A large-scale search operation followed. When no one was found despite an intensive search after dark, the mountain rescuers called off the search. Admont: Search for missing ski tourerOn the Lahngangkogel in Admont, a ski tourer was missing on Sunday. After a search flight, the police helicopter was able to locate the woman before nightfall.
