First images of Return to Pandora released
The first “Avatar 2” pictures promise adventures on and in the water.

This December, moviegoers are set to return to Pandora after 13 years. Now the first pictures of “Avatar 2” have been published.
The sequel to the sci-fi blockbuster “Avatar” (2009) has been in the making for quite some time. After various delays, the second trip to Pandora, again by director James Cameron (67), is scheduled to hit the cinemas on December 14 this year. The Walt Disney Studios have now released the first images of the film, which could allow some conclusions about the plot of the strip.
One picture shows the native inhabitants of the planet Pandora, the Na’vi, in a tranquil fishing village. In addition, several behind-the-scenes recordings were released, in which scenes appear to be created on or in the water. So will Avatar 2 largely explore the sea of Pandora? In 1989 he proved that Cameron has a soft spot for underwater worlds with his science fiction film “The Abyss”.
Still no real movie scenes
Anyone who is not blown away by the first look at the Na’vi in ”Avatar 2″ should be told: According to the description, this is also just “concept art”. The animation and computer technicians still have exactly eleven months to breathe new life into Pandora.
Sam Worthington (45), Zoe Saldana (43) and Sigourney Weaver (72) will play again in the second part of “Avatar”. Kate Winslet (46) and Michelle Yeoh (59) are also included.
By the way, it won’t stay with a sequel by far. Three more sequels will follow in the coming years. If everything goes according to plan, “Avatar 5” will be the conclusion of the series in 2028.
