We no longer present Avatar and even less Avatar: the way of the water, its sequel to the 2.32 billion dollars in international box office receipts. Released last December, the second part of the adventures of Jake Sully, Neytiri and the others quickly dethroned the other giant of 2022, a certain Top Gun: Maverick, becoming the most profitable film of the year, the film the highest-grossing since the COVID-19 pandemic and the third-highest-grossing film of all time. Just that.
Thirteen years after the original film that revolutionized the world of special effects, Avatar: The Way of the Water was also praised for his technical prowess. Among its many accolades, the film was nominated four times for the Oscars and won the prize for best visual effects. Three more sequels are in production, with the next installment expected in December 2024.
