The corona virus has forced numerous film productions to come to a standstill in recent weeks. This also affected the sequel to James Cameron's (65) sci-fi blockbuster "Avatar – Departure for Pandora". Filming for the sequel had to be interrupted due to a strict lockdown in New Zealand, but can now be resumed. Producer Jon Landau (59) announced with a photo on Instagram that he would continue shooting "Avatar 2" this week.
In his post you can see a photo of the set that shows two military watercraft – according to Landau the jetboat "Picador" and the high-speed ship "Matador". "Our # avatar sets are ready," wrote the producer of the picture. Everyone couldn't wait to go back to New Zealand.
The second part of "Avatar" will include Sam Worthington (43), Zoe Saldana (41) and Sigourney Weaver (70). Also new are Kate Winslet (44) and Vin Diesel (52). "Avatar 2" is expected to be released in German cinemas in December 2021.
