Avatar: fans recreate Pandora so well that it is validated by Disney!

Fans of the “Avatar” saga have recreated Pandora, her Na’vi and her Metkaniya. And it’s so beautiful that Disney himself praised the feat!

The world of Pandora has fascinated millions of viewers around the world with Avatar and its sequel Avatar: The Path of Water. And among the fans of this universe created from scratch by James Cameron, some are also fervent LEGO fans. And when these two worlds meet, the result is worth it!

Looking forward to seeing Avatar 3? Here’s everything we know about James Cameron’s next film!

These fans used 1 million bricks to recreate the world of Pandora on the surface and underwater! Workshops carried out in elementary schools and libraries involved children in both the construction and the design of certain parts of the decor. The diorama represents images from the films, and behind it, the sky which gives it all its depth is also made of LEGO!

The initiative started from one of the brand’s LUGs, a LUG being the name given across the Atlantic to an association of LEGO fans. LUG contacted LEGO to tell them about the idea, and the firm gave them the necessary resources to carry out this (very!) crazy project.

We can thus recognize the underwater creatures and the very particular flora revealed in The Way of Water, but also the Ikrans (flying creatures from the first film), in a 3D setting showing the surface with a magnificent waterfall and trees probably thousands of years old as well as the seabed and its hypnotizing colors.

If the project was supported by Disney, which broadcast the impressive result of these hours of construction on the official YouTube channel of the franchise, we still do not know what James Cameron thought of it.

The filmmaker is very busy with the upcoming resumption of filming on Avatar 4 and 5 (interrupted by the writers’ and actors’ strike) and the post-production of Avatar 3, which is scheduled to hit theaters on December 17, 2025.
