To inaugurate its Forward 2023 conference, Ubisoft has chosen none other than the famous Avatar Frontiers of Pandora.

The video game adaptation of the eponymous films by James Cameron has thus split two videos presenting gameplay, as well as a not so distant release date on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Ubisoft has opened Pandora’s box

Two years after the very first presentation ofAvatar Frontiers of Pandora during a previous Ubisoft Forward, what could be more logical than this supervised game opening the ball for this year’s game, as part of the Summer Game Fest? The publisher therefore presents us in more detail with what Pandora looks like in an open world of which the Massive Entertainment studio has the secret, first in a more cinematic trailer.

But fortunately, that was not all about this flagship game from Ubisoft. Inspired to a lesser extent by Starfield Directwe were also treated to a short but informative Deep Dive video fromAvatar Frontiers of Pandorawhich dwells more on the story, the gameplay and the open world of Pandora.

The vast open world of Pandora is opening up to us soon

As we have already seen, it will be a question of embodying a Na’Vi mainly in the first person. More specifically, we embody a native of Pandora recruited and trained by humans, before an incident cuts short these projects. Our character wakes up 15 years later, a stranger on his own planet.

A true initiatory journey to reconnect with its origins therefore awaits us, as humanity tries to empty Pandora of its resources… and its inhabitants. We will therefore, like Jake Sully in the films, gradually learn to fight and tame the ruthless nature of the planet, whether it is its terrestrial and flying fauna, which we can ride, or its flora.

Game Ubisoft obliges, all this will be part of an action-adventure game with a hint of RPG within a gigantic open world that is altogether very shimmering, exploiting in a rather convincing way the most recent graphic technologies, where we will meet various tribes of Na’Vi and will help them in their fight against the invaders. We will thus be able to handle both traditional weapons and more modern ones.

A very ambitious program that Ubisoft offers us, obviously with the blessing of James Cameron himself. We will be able to see all of this on Pandora when it is released, currently set for December 7, 2023 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S!
