As much time has passed in Part 2 as in reality. That is, the film takes place around 13 years later. Jake (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) are now parents. The Sully family’s idyllic life is disrupted when RDA mining returns to Pandora and Jake is forced to take the family to what is considered a “safe haven” reef.
“And on the reef there is a clan that we call the Metkayina,” explains Jon Landau, as reported by the US magazine Gamesradar. “The Sullys are no longer in their familiar environment, the rainforest.”

There will be a total of four sequels to Avatar. Part 3 is to appear on December 18, 2024, Part 4 on December 16, 2026 and Part 5 on December 20, 2028.
“The scripts are the blueprint we work from,” says Landau. “So we spent a lot of our time writing … with the challenge that each of these four scripts has to go into a story on its own that ends with a great emotional resolution – but when you look at it as a whole, The coherent story arc of all four films makes for an even bigger epic saga. ”
“Avatar 2” is slated to hit US cinemas on December 16, 2022. In Germany, the film is scheduled to hit cinemas on December 14, 2022.
