Avenger, Recon, Wagoneer S: 3 rooms, 3 atmospheres in future electric Jeeps

Jeep has announced no less than 3 new 100% electric vehicles by 2025. These models will be available for both the American market and Europe. Let’s try to recap the various announcements a bit.

It only took 8 minutes of presentation, broadcast on September 8, 2022, for Jeep to draw up its schedule of new products to come in the niche of 100% electric vehicles. It is therefore not one, but three electric SUVs that will arrive between 2023 and 2025.

Some models will be more suited to the habits of the American market, such as the Wagoneer S, but the Jeep Avenger and Recon are eagerly awaited in Europe.

Baby Jeep becomes Jeep Avenger and is coming to Europe soon

The CEO of the Stellantis group, Carlos Tavares, had already announced the outline of the first 100% electric vehicle signed Jeep. Photos taken during a shoot even leaked a few weeks ago on the net.

If we already had information on the arrival in concession in 2023 of the one called “Baby Jeep”, for lack of an official name, we now know that this Jeep is called Avenger.

Jeep Avenger will be presented in more detail at the Paris Motor Show in October. What we already know about this model is that it is based on the same platform as the Peugeot e-2008, but in a more compact size. In France and Germany, this model will only enter the Jeep catalog in a 100% electric version. Jeep Avenger will be smaller than a Jeep Renegade, currently the smallest reference in the Jeep range at 4.23 m.

Despite a smaller size, the brand specifies that the model will have space on board and a sufficient trunk. It will also offer off-road capabilities thanks to a design adapted to practice. Unlike the e-2008 (or Opel Mokka-e), the small SUV Jeep will be available with a 4×4 version.

For the moment, the announced autonomy is 400 km. We will have the more precise figure in October. If this Jeep Avenger takes up a common base with its cousins Peugeot, Opel, DS, it could well inaugurate some changes in terms of the power of its engine and the size of its battery.

2 other new features in the pure Jeep spirit: Recon and Wagoneer S

At a previous event, Jeep had already presented a possible 100% electric Jeep Wrangler. It will probably remain at the concept stage in this form and under this name, it is the Jeep Recon which now takes over.

Jeep Recon retains the rugged, all-terrain spirit of the Wrangler. There is also a feature specific to this model that makes it easy to remove the roof and the doors. The Jeep philosophy can be found in this product according to the first images released by the manufacturer.

This electric model will be a true franchisor, ready for adventure, according to the brand’s director, Christian Meunier: ” The all-new, all-electric Jeep Recon has the ability to traverse the acclaimed Rubicon Trail, one of the toughest trails in the United States, and reach the end of the trail with enough range to return to town to recharge. »

For those who prefer the comfort of a living room on wheels, it is on the side of the announcements of the Wagoneer family that it will be necessary to look. The one presented today under the code name “Wagoneer S” is a large premium SUV which is aimed more at the American market, but this electric version could cross the Atlantic to find fans of the genre in Europe.

We will have to wait a bit to learn more about the technical characteristics of these upcoming models, but for the Wagoneer S, Jeep has already cited 3 figures that pique our curiosity:

  • 600 hp
  • 640 km range
  • 3.5 seconds for 0 to 100 km/h

These electric novelties will be presented in more detail in 2023, for an entry into production scheduled for 2024 for Jeep Recon and Wagoneer S.
