Avengers: Secret Wars has been announced, as has almost the entire Multiverse saga release schedule. However, there is no trace of the Young Avengers, right?

  • The Marvel films and Disney+ series have introduced many young superheroes and heroines.
  • The MCU is clearly heading towards the Young Avengers, but an official project has not yet been announced.
  • Marvel boss Kevin Feige probably won’t announce a “Young Avengers” movie either, because “Secret Wars” could take over this part.

Almost the entire Marvel Phase 4, 5 and 6 release schedule has been revealed by Marvel boss Kevin Feige. But the Young Avengers are conspicuously absent, although the young superheroes are being introduced steadily and it’s actually an inevitable crossover. But what if “Avengers: Secret Wars” is a “Young Avengers” movie?

The finale of the Multiverse saga, which consists of stages 4 through 6, features two “Avengers” films that start in 2025: “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” and “Avengers: Secret Wars”. We explain to you why it would be particularly useful for “Secret Wars” to tell a “Young Avengers” story.

Avengers: “The Kang Dynasty” will have a cliffhanger!

As with “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame”, the first part will end with a massive cliffhanger. The comic story of “Secret Wars” begins with the fact that the multiverse is destroyed, including our universe. So the showdown of “The Kang Dynasty” will end with the destruction of the multiverse.

Then the heroes find themselves on an earth artificially created by Doctor Doom, which consists of the fragments of different universes. Almost nobody can remember life before that, Doom made sure of that. But one day, a few heroes who can remember appear – and come up with a plan to overthrow Doom.

Will this group be the Young Avengers squad? You might think so, but there are two groups doing detective work in the 2015 comic, and one of them is already a group of teenagers. So Marvel only needs to change a little.

Secret Wars: what is the task of the young heroes in the comics?

Led by Valeria Richards, daughter of Reed and Sue Richards of the Fantastic Four, there is a group of young heroes who serve under Doctor Doom. They are to help him maintain his god status and believe in him. But one day Valeria realizes that the things Doom is saying don’t make any sense.

She does not want to betray her – she believes – father and does not actively work against him, but she investigates secretly and mobilizes the other young heroes to work with her. In the final battle between Doom’s forces and the rebellious Avengers remembering, not all young heroes fight on the same side, as some remain on Doom’s side.

It would be easy for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to swap out Valeria and her people for the Young Avengers, thus doubling the story. On the one hand, the Young Avengers investigate and recognize Doom’s lies, on the other hand, the Avengers are rattling off a rebellion.

Secret Wars: The connection between the old and the young Avengers

In the comics, Valeria is the daughter of Reed Richards, who is one of the Avengers who oppose Doom. However, Valeria does not remember this and believes that Doom is her father. Still, there is an emotional connection between the Avengers and the young heroes in the comics.

In the MCU so far, the Young Avengers have introduced Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) and Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani). They all have a strong bond with their mentors: Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), and Captain Marvel (Brie Larson).

Ms. Marvel and Captain Marvel’s relationship will deepen in The Marvels, and more Young Avengers will also be introduced: Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), who has a close bond with the Black Panther, whoever it is in Wakanda Forever ” will be, and Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), Ant-Man’s daughter.

So here too we have a strong connection between the young and old heroes, who are on different sides but are on the trail of the same intrigue. It would create a wonderful tension field for the MCU to go that route.

“Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” starts on May 2, 2025 and about half a year later, on November 7, 2025, “Avengers: Secret Wars” finally concludes the Multiverse saga. We list you all Marvel new releases!
