Various FritzBoxes have already received beta versions for the upcoming FritzOS 7.50 – the firmware brings fresh functions for the first time since FritzOS 7.25. With the experimental laboratory versions, the innovations can be tested even before the official release of FritzOS 7.50. The innovations include an appointment calendar and a voice announcement for the FritzFon as well as the popular WireGuard VPN method. Now, for the first time, a WLAN repeater from AVM is receiving a beta for FritzOS 7.50: With the FritzRepeater 2400, it improves, among other things, the data transmission paths in the network and thus increases the speed.
New beta version for FritzRepeater 2400
The new beta for the FritzRepeater 2400 can be downloaded from the AVM website (version number: 07.39-94804). It brings these novelties:
New function
- Improved dynamic smart repeating enables higher data throughput for end devices connected to the FritzRepeater
- The country and language settings of the FritzBox (Mesh-Master) are automatically transferred to the FritzRepeater

- Connection display of the user interface shows WLAN routers from other manufacturers with a suitable symbol

- In rare cases, the guest WLAN on the repeater could not be activated
- Multiple waiting times after radar detection could occur
- If a WPS quick connection was started during the check for privileged users (e.g. radar), under system > events an incorrect message is displayed
- In the user interface, the period for displaying the utilization of the WLAN radio channel could not be changed if the 2.4 GHz radio network was inactive
- Maximum transmission power cannot be changed in LAN bridge mode (page: WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS > radio channel)
- Corrected the time for the last update of the WLAN environment
