AVM launches new functions for FritzApp WLAN and FritzApp Fon

The Internet specialist AVM has published further updates for the FritzApp Fon for iOS and for the FritzApp WLAN for Android. Both apps now have new functions and there are also improvements.

AVM has now provided further updates for users of the company’s smartphone apps. After the update for the FritzApp Fon for Android, there are now updates for the iOS version of the application. Anyone who uses FritzApp Fon on the iPhone now has the option of using call signaling for telephone calls via the latest iOS technology. The prerequisite for this is a router with FritzOS 7.20 or newer, as well as iOS 14 or newer on the iPhone or iPad. The new version is now available as an update or as a download from the iOS App Store. We have included the complete release notes at the end of the article.

The second update launched today concerns the FritzApp WLAN for Android. With the new version 2.12.0, AVM starts displaying the latency in the WLAN in the “Measure WLAN” menu item. Users had requested this analysis in the app, and now it is initially being launched for Android users. The new version is now available as an automatic update or via the Play Store.

What can the FritzApp WLAN do?

The FritzApp WLAN makes it easier to monitor all access points in the home network with a clear display. There are also various overviews for FritzWLAN repeaters, FritzPowerline adapters and FritzBoxes, and you can measure the WLAN throughput. Users can also find out about existing FritzOS updates. The updates are recommended to all users. For the Fritz network, some functions are only supported if the connected FritzBoxes use at least FritzOS 7.10; In general, the connection runs from FritzOS 6.50.
