Avowed prepares its release for fall 2024 – Gamosaurus

During the Xbox Developer Direct, Obsidian were the first to stop by to take another look at their game. While its gameplay was presented last June, Avowed is going back over it to provide some details and a release window for fall 2024. More than a role-playing game where magic and swords intersect, it is possible to benefit from each of these aspects. And to change it whenever we want during a confrontation.

Taking place in the Living Lands, Avowed is therefore an extension of the universe of Pillars of Eternity. This necessarily results in an already well-stocked bestiary, mainly taken from Deadfire, the latest addition to the license. However, the game aims to be a new approach to this universe. For this, the adventure takes place in first person, and will explore the stories of this world. Numerous quests will allow us to flesh out the stories and better understand certain peoples.

But most of the conference was dedicated to the combat system. This allows you to adopt magic, firearms or even melee weapons. It is even possible to combine them using a gun and a wand in each hand. The combinations are therefore intended to be richer to offer greater diversity in these moments.

However, it is the fluidity of switching from one piece of equipment to another that impresses. All weapon combinations can be saved so you can switch between them in the middle of a fight. With this system, we can adapt more easily to the enemy in front of us. It will even be possible to combine effects to take effective advantage of all this arsenal. Enough to make you want to try Avowed when it is released in fall 2024.
