New year, new broadcaster, new categories: the "German Comedy Award" should change a lot in 2020. A brief overview.
This year a lot will change at the "German Comedy Award". The award is not only broadcast on another broadcaster, friends of local comedy can also vote in two new categories.
In June it was announced that "Der Deutsche Comedypreis" 2020 will no longer be shown on RTL, but on Sat.1. Now the broadcaster has announced the first details of the broadcast. The award will be presented on Friday, October 2nd, 2020, live from 8.15 p.m. on Sat.1.

From the beginning of September, fans can vote for their favorites in a total of nine categories. The audience votes include the "best comedy show", the "best comedy series", the "best satire show", the "best comedian", the "best comedian", the "best newcomer" and the best "sketch comedy".
The categories "Best Comedy Podcast" and "Best Moderation" are new. In addition to classic TV programs and comedians, there will also be a choice of digital formats and, above all, comedians known through the Internet.
"The German Comedy Prize" has been awarded for more than 20 years. Last year Luke Mockridge (31) was named "Best Comedian". "PussyTerror TV" with Carolin Kebekus (40) was voted "Best Comedy Show".
