This is the best animal photo of the year
The election for the best nature photo of the year ran until the end of January 2024. 25 images took part in the competition for the “Wildlfe Photographer of the Year Award 2023” at the Natural History Museum in London. We show you the breathtaking photos that make us aware of how fragile the beauty of our planet is.
Winning photo: “Ice Bed” The male polar bear creates a bed out of a small iceberg before falling asleep in the far north off the Norwegian Svalbard archipelago. The polar bears’ habitat is increasingly threatened by constant climate change, which is alarmingly expressed by the extraordinary photograph taken by photographer Nima Sarikhani, which earned him the Audience Award from the London Museum of Natural History.
