Awards for best comic albums go to women

The 40-year-old Bischoff received the award for the best album for her work “Anaïs Nin, sur la mer des mensonges”. The book in colors, already awarded the Audience Award at the Angoulême Festival 2021, deals with the life of the American writer Anaïs Nin. The six-member jury from western and German-speaking Switzerland praised the “graphic delicacy”, the “fertility of the images” and the “narrative sensitivity” of the 120-page work.

Baumann was awarded for the best first Swiss comic book. “Zwang” emerged from the diary of the now 34-year-old author, which she has kept since she was 18 years old. According to the jury, the work, practically without words and in black and white, is a mixture of “a weird portrayal of everyday life”, “an uncompromising view of human loneliness”, surrealism and “humor without complexities”.
