Bruce Willis’ suffering from aphasia was terrible news. But it helps to create awareness for those affected.

The news that Hollywood star Bruce Willis (67) had to end his career due to aphasia shocked his fans worldwide. But Willis and his family’s decision to be open about the reason for his withdrawal has now earned the star the thanks of the National Aphasia Association (NAA). It is thanks to the actor’s charisma that many people are now dealing with the important topic of aphasia, quotes the US site “TMZ”.

Willis is helping to educate the world about damage to the language center in the brain that causes problems with speaking and understanding language. Just an hour after Willis’ family in a joint statement of his aphasiaaccording to President Darlene Williamson, the organization has seen an enormous increase in access.

The aim of the NAA is that people with aphasia continue to feel accepted in society. Willis and his family are now helping to reduce the stigma surrounding the disease.
