Darmstadt is back in the promotion race

After the neck blow against Schalke, Darmstadt 98 is back in the promotion race of the 2nd Bundesliga. Opponent St. Pauli, on the other hand, missed the leap to second place. Half a dozen teams still have the chance to play in the Bundesliga next season.
Darmstadt 98 has come back impressively in the promotion race of the 2nd Bundesliga. After two defeats in a row at FC St. Pauli, coach Torsten Lieberknecht’s team happily won 2-1 (2-0) and pushed Hamburg out of relegation rank three.
Luca Pfeiffer (9th) and Fabian Holland (35th) scored for the lilies. St. Pauli, for which Lukas Daschner (81st) reduced the lead, has been waiting for a win for four games and is one point behind Darmstadt.
The visitors took the lead with their first finish. Philip Tietz served Pfeiffer, who scored his 14th goal of the season. After that, the hosts increased the pressure, but they often remained too imprecise in the last third. Etienne Amenyido was also blocked at the last moment (29th). Darmstadt was compact and became dangerous with the few counterattacks. Holland increased worth seeing.
