Four consoles in less than a year
In the fall, AMD launched its Zen 4 microarchitecture and, with it, the Ryzen 7000 processors, the spearhead of which we tested, for example, the Ryzen 9 7950X. More importantly, the American company hit the nail on the head at the very beginning of the year at CES 2023 in Las Vegas.
There, 65 Watt Ryzen 7000s such as the Ryzen 5 7600 were presented as well as graphics solutions for mobiles and APUs such as the Dragon Range and the Phoenix, processors integrating a high-performance graphics solution.
It was enough to see AYANEO draw a brand new portable console through a tweet that says enough to make us ask countless questions.
A graphical solution dedicated »?
AYANEO therefore confirms the release, during 2023, of NEXT 2 and KUN. For the first, she emphasizes the use of a ” Next-gen 7000 series processor » and insists on the use of an 8-inch screen associated with a « dedicated graphics card “. It is difficult to imagine a company like AYANEO being wrong in the terms used.
In fact, the phrase ” dedicated graphics card ” interrogates. Even a mobile solution like the Radeon RX 7600S mentioned by AMD in Las Vegas is too demanding for a portable console with its TDP of 50-70 Watts. However, by the term used, AYANEO excludes the Dragon Range and Phoenix APUs which would have been more logical on such a device?!
