A news portable console AYANEO arrives on the market, but for once, there is no question of running it under Windows.
A little behind its initial schedule, AYANEO has finally launched its second portable console which is based on Google’s operating system, Android. A notable change, as the firm is more accustomed to Windows.
Microsoft’s OS therefore does not have the right to use this machine powered by one of the most fashionable chips, the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 from the company Qualcomm.

Of course, that’s not everything, but aesthetically, the Pocket S (that’s the name of the little machine) is a real success. There is no question for AYANEO of disrupting the habits of players, the shape of the console is classic.

It is therefore a machine 214 millimeters long, 85 millimeters wide and only 14 millimeters thick. This finesse is one of the arguments of the company, which also insists on its weight of 350 grams, which makes it a lighter machine than the Switch (398 grams), while an imposing battery of 6,000 mAh is integrated.
As always, the controls (mini-sticks and Hall effect triggers) are placed on either side of the screen, which incorporates a 6-inch IPS panel which, depending on the version chosen, is capable of a definition of 1080 or 1440p. Other possible distinctions are the amount of RAM (12 or 16 GB) and SSD storage space (128, 512 or 1,024 GB).
At the heart of the Pocket S, we always find the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2. Depending on needs, according to desires, its power can be adjusted up to 15 watts.
A price between 399 and 799 dollars
This variation in processor power is just one of the many adjustments allowed by the AYASpace software, which here goes hand in hand with AYAHome, a graphic overlay intended to make the Android interface more pleasant. Of course, the two software programs in the AYANEO suite are largely configurable… but there is no French version at the moment.

The Pocket S is primarily intended for the Android games library, but AYANEO emphasizes the options available to enthusiasts, who will be able to take advantage of PS5 or Steam streaming. The latter relies on the machine’s XInput compatibility for controls with vibration support. Streaming uses the Wi-Fi 7 compatibility offered by the console.
A little behind its original schedule, AYANEO announces the implementation of the Indiegogo campaign for its machine and specifies that the consoles will be sent from mid-May. Note that then, the console will be sold on the AYANEO store, but that the Indiegogo campaign is an opportunity to get better prices, especially if you are quick.
The 1080p version actually starts at $399, when it will cost $559 on the AYANEO store. Same thing for the 1440p version, which varies from $439 for the smallest version on Indiegogo to $799 for the most muscular on the brand’s website.
