Little June was found dead in June 2018 in a creek in Florida. Four years after the tragedy, his 29-year-old mother has just been charged with infanticide.
One drama elucidated in Florida. A Palm Beach County judge ordered 29-year-old Arya Singh to be held without bond during a brief hearing on Dec. 16, 2022, CBS News reports. She had been arrested the day before as part of the investigation into the death of an infant. The lifeless body of “baby June” had been found floating, June 1, 2018, in Boynton Beach Cove. At the time, this terrible discovery had moved the United States.
Her umbilical cord had just been cut.
The baby’s mother was confused by his DNA, four years after the infanticide. According to information from Paris Matchthe investigators were able to determine, within a few days, the date of birth of the infant born between May 25 and May 28, 2018. His umbilical cord appeared to have been cut very recently and his corpse showed traces of blood test. “We have his DNA in our database and we will continue to search. I am confident that one day we will find out what happened to him.”, had commented agent Strivelli at the time of the facts. The investigators then checked all the births in the region, which enabled them to piecing together the baby’s family tree.
During interrogations, the child’s father said he was convinced that Arya Singh had an abortion and that he was no longer in contact with her at all. After her arrest, the alleged murderer for her part declared that she had found out about her pregnancy just a few weeks before giving birth. She then explained that she didn’t know if her baby was alive or dead until she decided to get rid of it. During a press conference, detective Brittany Christoffel revealed that the young woman had gave birth to her newborn baby in the bathroom of a hotel room.
