Baby was in a hurry – little Miriam was born in the ambulance

This new citizen was in a hurry! Little Miriam was born last Thursday on the way to the hospital. With the help of the Red Cross paramedics, the birth went smoothly.

Last Thursday, Sarah Lettner from Großgmain went into labor. On the way to the hospital, the contractions became stronger and the intervals became shorter and shorter. “It was clear to all of us that Miriam would be born in the ambulance,” says mom Sarah. The paramedics reacted quickly. They prepared the vehicle for the birth while emergency paramedic Martin supported mom Sarah. Miriam was born healthy, her father’s umbilical cord was cut off and she was placed in her mother’s arms. The family was then taken to Salzburg Hospital. “It was immediately clear to us that we were in the best hands in the truest sense of the word. “That was great luck for us,” says mom Sarah gratefully.
