Babylon at the Golden Globes: 5 nominations pending the awards for the event film with Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie

A week before its release in French theaters, “Babylon” is in the running for five Golden Globes. Six years after “La La Land”, will Damien Chazelle triumph again?

The race for the Oscars really begins on the night of January 10-11 for Babylon. The fifth feature film by Damien Chazelle is indeed in the running for five Golden Globes, prizes awarded by the HFPA (Hollywood Foreign Press Association) and which give first indications on the continuation of the season of the awards.

Placed in the category “Comedy or Musical”the feature film worn by Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie, and which notably looks back on the transition from silent to talkies in Hollywood, is nominated for these five awards:

  • Best Comedy or Musical
  • Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical (Diego Calva)
  • Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical (Margot Robbie)
  • Best Supporting Actor (Brad Pitt)
  • Best Music (Justin Hurwitz)

If we will have to wait a few more hours before knowing the results, Babylon will not be able to repeat the feat of La La Land, who left with seven trophies (for as many nominations!) in 2017. Especially since the competition will be tough in this section , of which he is not the favorite.

Everything Everywhere All At Once (6 nominations) and especially Les Banshees d’Inisherin (8 nominations) are currently one step ahead of Babylon, in terms of the number of citations received. See you very soon for the results of the races. Then on January 24 to find out the chances of Damien Chazelle’s film at the Oscars.
