“Babylon – Rush of Ecstasy” is a comedy drama by the American-French screenwriter and film director Damien Chazelle, who is known among other things for his work “La La Land”. The three-hour feature film deals with the Hollywood film industry from the 1920s to the 1950s.

With the beginning of the 1920s, there was a change in the Hollywood film industry. As the era of silent films comes to an end, the era of talkies begins. The new medium offers incredible new possibilities, but at the same time raises serious downsides.

Manny Torres, a brave actor and son of Mexican immigrants, dreams of making it big, while Jack Conrad, a famous movie star, seems to have everything but never gets enough. Everyone’s life will change drastically over time, bringing partying and fame along with fear of failure and suffering.

Birds of Prey: The Emancipation of Harley Quinn star Margot Robbie (as Nellie LaRoy) and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star Brad Pitt (as Jack Conrad) star in the film. Also in front of the camera are Diego Calva as Manny Torres, who also acts as narrator, Tobey Maguire (“Spider-Man”) as James McKay, Jean Smart as Elinor St. John and Max Minghella as film producer Irving Thalberg.

The film also stars Jovan Adepo (“The Stand”) as Sidney Palmer, Samara Weaving as Colleen Moore, Olivia Wilde as Ira Conrad, Katherine Waterston as Ruth Arzner and Eric Roberts as Robert Roy.
