Bac 2022: All about the specialty tests that start this Wednesday

From Wednesday May 11 to Friday May 13, senior high school students will take their specialty tests, which are predominant in the final scale of the 2022 baccalaureate. Coefficients, specialties according to the sectors, complete calendar… Here is a summary to understand everything.

As the education system was heavily affected by Covid-19 last year, the specialty tests were postponed on January 28. Initially scheduled for March 14 to 16, they will finally take place almost two months later.

If students in the vocational baccalaureate are not concerned by these specialty tests, those in the general or technological stream will have to take them. The latter will be evaluated on two specialties, after having eliminated one in first class last year.

What are the specialties for each sector?

Students in the general baccalaureate will therefore have to choose two specialties according to the following themes:

– arts

– Biology-ecology

– History-geography, geopolitics and political science

– Humanity, literature and philosophy

– Foreign and regional languages, literatures and cultures

– Literature, languages and cultures of Antiquity

– Math

– Numerical and computer sciences

– Chemical Physics

– Life and earth sciences

– Engineering Sciences

– Economic and social sciences

Students in the technological stream will have two specialties imposed according to the course chosen:

– The STMG sector (Sciences and technologies of management and management) will work on “Management, management and digital sciences” and “Law and economics”.

– The ST2S sector (Health and social sciences and technologies) will have as tests “Chemistry, biology and human physiopathology” and “Health and social sciences and techniques”.

– The STL sector (Sciences and laboratory technologies) will compose with “Physics-chemistry and mathematics” and “Biochemistry-biology-biotechnology or Physical and chemical sciences in the laboratory”.

– The STI2D sector (Sciences and technologies of industry and sustainable development) will bring together the specialties “Engineering, innovation and sustainable development” and “Physics-chemistry and mathematics”.

– The STHR sector (Sciences and technologies of the hotel and catering industry) will have as tests “Sciences and technologies of cooking and services – Scientific education food environment” and “Economy – Hotel management”.

– The STD2A sector (Sciences and technologies of design and applied arts) will include the tests of “Analysis and methods in design” and “Conception and creation in design and crafts”.

– The S2TMD sector (Science and technique of theatre, music and dance) will work on “Culture and science” and “Practice”.

A huge coefficient for each specialty

Including the specialty tests, the “terminal control” will represent 60% of the final mark, against 40% for the continuous control, grouping together the subjects of the common core, the options and the specialty of first.

Indeed, with a coefficient set at 16 for each of the two specialties chosen, these tests which will begin on Wednesday will play a decisive role in the “terminal control” block.

The complete calendar

Regarding the professional baccalaureate, the next step will be the written tests in mathematics, physics and chemistry, which will take place from May 23 to June 3.
