Back To Live: Peter Maffay, Sido and more play concerts

Many major events will remain banned until the end of 2020: That shouldn't get in the way of the "Back to Live" concert series.

Major events will remain prohibited until the end of the year. The holding of such events is only permitted under certain conditions. The appearance of Peter Maffay (70, "Tabaluga") and his band, which is planned for the beginning of October, can still take place as things stand.

Maffay is to appear as part of the "Back To Live" concert series by Semmel Concerts on the Berlin Waldbühne. Before that, Roland Kaiser (68), Sido (39), Helge Schneider (64) and Wincent Weiss (27) want to entertain the audience in September. A special edition of the "Schlagernacht des Jahres", presented by rbb television, is also planned.

The concerts will "can take place"

"The Berlin Senate confirmed in its press conference yesterday that nothing has changed in the existing ordinance and that outdoor events for up to 5,000 people may continue to take place from September 1st," explains a spokeswoman for Semmel Concerts when asked by the news agency spot on news. "The regulation was only extended until December 31, 2020. This means that the concerts (…) can take place."

In addition, the concert organizer's spokeswoman assures: "We will implement the existing hygiene rules responsibly and consistently by means of a comprehensively developed hygiene concept in order to enable all visitors to have a safe concert experience." Advance sales for the Maffay concert have now also opened. This should actually start on August 27, but was initially "suspended due to the political discussion on Thursday yesterday (…)".

Uncertain future of other shows

Meanwhile, Angelo Kelly (38) said in a clip on Instagram: "I have now also noticed that it was decided today in Germany that until the end of the year (…) no major events may take place". Unfortunately, it looks like he won't be able to play the planned "Irish Christmas Tour 2020" with his family. That is "unbelievable" for him. Semmel Concerts confirmed on request that the tour is unlikely to take place.

How the "In the Ä Tonight" tour of the doctors will stand is still uncertain. But it looks like fans of the band will have to wait until 2021. Semmel Concerts explains that "the tour operator has not yet made a statement". "At the moment we are assuming that we will have to postpone the entire 'In The Ä Tonight' tour by one year between November and December 2021," the doctors' homepage said earlier.
