bad news, the increase will be passed on with a delay

Those who receive the disability pension will still have to wait to receive the increase. If the 4.6% increase planned to take inflation into account were to appear on pensions paid in May, it will ultimately only be a few months away. Explanations

This is an unpleasant surprise for people receiving a disability pension. The sum, paid to people who have seen their work and earning capacity reduced by at least 2/3 (66%) following an accident or illness of non-occupational origin, is revalued according to the inflation and paid at the beginning of the month.

From April 1, it must increase by 4.6%. The revaluation should have been visible on the payments at the beginning of May. Many beneficiaries questioned the amounts received which did not correspond to this increase. Unfortunately, they will still have to wait.

An effective revaluation at the beginning of May or the beginning of August

Due to a technical constraint, the revaluation will only be effective at the beginning of July or the beginning of August, with a retroactive effect from April 1, indicated the National Health Insurance Fund (Cnam) handicap.fr. A situation which echoes that encountered in 2020, notes the specialized media. Those concerned then had to wait 6 months to receive the increase which was also effective from April.

At the end of 2021, 827,000 people benefited from a direct disability pension in one of the basic schemes surveyed in the annual survey of pension funds. Among them, 97,000 are new beneficiaries, indicated the Directorate of Research, Studies, Evaluation and Statistics (Drees) in the 2023 edition of its annual overview of withdrawals and retirements.

The amount of an adjustment pension depends on income and the category of disability, of which there are three. It ranges on average from 550 euros per month for disabled people able to carry out a paid activity, 1880 euros for the most dependent, specifies the Drees

Other revaluations

Other minimums and social benefits were also increased by 4.6% on April 1. The RSA, for example, for an additional amount of 28 euros (except Mayotte), student grants, or even the minimum old age (Aspa), the equivalent retirement replacement allowance (AER-R) or even the allowance for disabled adults (AAH).
