bad news which will make many disappointed

Kingdom Hearts 4 is being talked about again and it’s not good news. A new cold shower for fans who will be disappointed.

If all eyes are on Final Fantasy lately, Square Enix has other big assets up its sleeve, notably Kingdom Hearts 4, the new episode of another franchise extremely popular here, like everywhere else. Sora will indeed continue his journey through the different Disney universes in a new opus soon, except that since his announcement a few years ago, the information is extremely thin, if not completely non-existent.

The questions are therefore numerous and the theories multiply. For now, we are still wondering where Sora’s new adventures will take us and which characters we will be able to find in this Kingdom Hearts 4. Some heroes have already been confirmed in addition to Sora, obviously, such as for example Donald or even Goofy and the mysterious henchmen of Organization XIII, but some are still missing. We think in particular of important characters like Riku, Terra or even Roxas and Ventus. Fans are clinging to what they can to come up with any sort of theory, but a recent interview will dampen their hopes, yet more bad news.

Kingdom Hearts 4 is long overdue

Jesse McCartney, the author, singer and composer who lends his voice to Roxas and Ventus, recently spoke with the media Popverse and during the interview, he was asked about his work with the two emblematic characters of the license, and more generally on Kingdom Hearts.

McCartney first says he is very proud to be part of this universe, he returns in particular to his work on Kingdom Hearts 3 which made him realize to what extent the license had become gigantic. The fans are legion and are literally in love with KH, something McCartney admits is quite impressive. He says that while he initially viewed his first jobs as a voice actor on the franchise as simply earning a living, things have changed significantly since then. “It’s just crazy what it’s become, there are now people coming to my shows who don’t even know my music. They’re just Kingdom Hearts fans.”he laughs.

Bad news that dampens all hopes

But where fans will be disappointed is when McCartney says that he loved working on KH 3 as Roxas and that he hopes Square Enix will remake a Kingdom Hearts game. Either the gentleman implies that he would like to be able to return to a KH game where one of his characters would be present, or he does not even know that KH4 is in development.

In both cases, this confirms one thing for the moment: he has not been recalled and therefore, neither Roxas nor Ventus seem to be featured in Kingdom Hearts 4 at the moment. Sad news for early fans, but nothing is over yet. The dubbing may not have started yet or some of the voice actors may have been changed, we’ll see. We will have to be patient to find out for sure and wait for official news from Square. So wait and see.
