Retirement pensions may be under-indexed in 2025, those billions of euros that you forget to claim… Here are the 3 pieces of information to remember from this Thursday, February 22, 2024.
Excluded news of the day: Abandoned bank account and savings: still 7 billion euros to recover!
According to the Ciclade service of general interest, dedicated to the search for forgotten or unclaimed accounts or investments, no less than 7 billion euros are waiting for buyers today at the Caisse des Dépôts, according to the figures revealed this Thursday by MoneyVox.
Nevertheless, the year 2023 was still the year of rebound for the Eckert law system – aimed at better informing holders of inactive bank accounts and beneficiaries of life insurance contracts, in order to limit the escheat of contracts – since we note 11 million searches on the site (for 15 million in total since 2017), 223,774 restitution requests in 2023 (for 524,568 since 2017), the requests being searches which result in a match on a forgotten product , and 154.6 million euros returned in 2023 for 838.7 million euros returned since 2017.
On average, there are 747 euros returned per beneficiary in 2023 and 1,784 euros returned on average per beneficiary since 2017.
Although the search process via Ciclade is very simple, it unfortunately remains too little used since 400 million euros have already ended up in the state coffers after 30 years of inactivity.
