Bad weather in the Hautes-Alpes: improvement but significant damage

The bad weather which hit the Hautes-Alpes on Friday caused significant damage and some 4,000 homes remain without electricity, the prefecture said on Saturday, according to which the decline has now begun and the situation is improving.

National road 94 remains cut at Eygliers in the Durance valley, indicates the prefecture in a press release. The Enedis and Orange teams are working to restore electricity in the Guillestre area and the mobile network in the north of the department.

The damage, currently being observed, will be significant around Guillestre, Eygliers and Risoul, the latter of which was still inaccessible on Saturday morning following the collapse of a section of road around thirty meters long. Many houses are impacted, according to the same source.
