BAE Systems: $60 million contract with the US AMC

(CercleFinance.com) – BAE Systems announces that it has been awarded a $60 million contract by the US Army Material Command (AMC) to develop next-generation microelectronics with Radiation Resistant Design (RHBD) technology.

For this, BAE Systems is expected to operate Intel Corporation’s commercial foundry, Intel Foundry Services.

The primary goal of the program is to expand access to advanced microelectronics technology for the United States government and aerospace community through a nationwide offering.

‘Radiation-hardened electronics is a highly specialized critical technology,’ said Chris Rappa, director of BAE Systems’ FAST Labs.

“Leveraging Intel’s commercial foundry will solve supply chain challenges so we can maintain our nation’s technological edge,” he concluded.
