The title sold more than 500,000 copies in ten days and was played for almost 1,800 years (!) by PC players on Steam in total. Available on consoles and PC, the game from developer LocalThunk is coming soon to your smartphone.

It was during an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on ​​Reddit that the game’s publisher Playstack announced the news: LocalThunk is porting Balatro to iPhone and Android. After a brief disappearance on the Nintendo Switch eShop, the title will finally be able to conquer the gigantic mobile gaming market.

We hope that the developers have planned a cross-progression functionality, with certain bonuses unlocking as the games progress in an attempt to achieve ever higher scores. A game developed on Mac

Questioned by the site Imore, the developer LocalThunk revealed that he had developed the game on Mac for 8 months, but still considers the port to the Apple platform too complicated, citing a “ litany of very good reasons not to make a game for Mac, especially as a solo developer “.

He thus specifies that to work on both PC and Mac, you must have not two, but three computers: a PC on the x86 architecture, a MacBook using the ARM architecture (Apple Silicon) and another on x86 to older models with Intel processors. “The game is not worth the effort» according to the developer, who however made the effort for an unexpected reason.

In fact, the game recently had a Mac version available on the Apple App Store, a “port” which was not made for commercial reasons, but for personal ones: “99% of the reason I tried to make a Mac port was for my friend Jeremy. He’s a Mac user and one of the people I love sharing this hobby with, so I wanted to make a version he could play on his favorite platform“.
