Balatro was launched on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch, but quickly, it disappeared from certain stores, notably from theeShop. Playstack explained in a statement that Balatro was originally PEGI 3+a classification obtained after the editor has completed the usual questionnaire, but the Pan European Game Information placed his hands on the game and judged that it was a money game incorporating the codes of poker and betting. Result, Balatro passed PEGI 18+which automatically removed it from some stores as a security measure.
Playstack explains that the game does not encourage betting, thatit was developed by a person deeply against betting and that the mechanics of gameplay do not take up those of poker, only diverting them. The editor adds that the PEGI 3+ was obtained last October and that he had already discussed the subject of betting with the organization at the time, hence the general surprise.
