The developers of Baldur’s Gates 3 have detected a critical issue that is causing the game to crash completely for some. To limit the breakage, the teams had to make an unfortunate decision.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is still broken
Baldur’s Gate 3 still has some way to go before it renders a “perfect” copy. Since the release, the developers have been discovering bugs and doing everything possible to fix them. But sometimes it takes longer than expected and this is precisely the case today. The release of hotfix 4, a smaller patch, is the source of new crashes.
Faced with this concern, Larian Studios decided to remove the update and roll back. Which inevitably causes other problems for players of Baldur’s Gate 3. “Due to a build error which is causing new crashes, we have rolled back hotfix 4 for the time being. We will put it back online as soon as we have corrected the problem. If you’ve made a save since this patch, you won’t be able to load those saves until we restore it. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused”.
It’s been several hours already and no permanent solution has been found. The teams had to react quickly by putting hotfix 3 back online to allow some to play Baldur’s Gate 3. ” To clear things up, we’ve reverted to the previous patch so you can keep playing! You simply won’t be able to load Patch 4 saves. We apologize for the delay in redeploying the update. We are working to identify the issue and when we have a stable version of hotfix 4 we will release it. As soon as it’s good, we’ll let you know ».
New for the PS5 version of the game
Apart from these problems, Baldur’s Gate 3 appeals to all those who are brave enough to embark on this long journey. The RPG has broken many historical records, and there’s no reason it shouldn’t on PS5. The title was even in the top pre-orders on the US PlayStation Store, number 1, which is very promising.
The other good news is that all PlayStation 5 owners will be able to download Baldur’s Gate 3 from August 31 at 6 p.m. A preview, however, reserved only for buyers of the Deluxe digital version. An edition that also offers early access to the game from September 2 at 6 p.m. For those who are satisfied with the Standard version, the pre-download will be available on September 4 at 6 p.m. The title will unlock on release day, September 6, 2023 at 6 p.m. If we will have to see how the console port behaves, we already know that Baldur’s Gate 3 will be much more stable on PS5.
