For decades, ballet flats have served as inspiration for fashion. The balletcore trend is also based on the graceful dancers.

Bodies, tulle, cuffs and ballerinas: ballet is not a new fashion inspiration – the graceful dancers have been the muses for many fashion trends since the early 19th century. Now this has developed into a new trend that has been on TikTok and the catwalks for some time: Balletcore.

Inspired by the colours, fabrics and details from ballet, the trend combines graceful femininity with a certain edginess. These pieces are a must have for any Balletcore wardrobe.

Whether over tights or with bare legs: legwarmers are an essential part of every ballerina’s wardrobe and are not only chic, but also ensure warm calves in autumn. Influencer Emili Sindlev combined her white cuffs with a micro skirt, kitten heels and a casual college jacket.

Of course, the classic ballerina shoe should not be missing. Whether casual with wide jeans like influencer Matilda Djerf or very graceful and classic with a mini skirt like influencer Camilla Charriere – after we had actually already banned flat shoes from our shoe closet, they are now slowly returning to our hearts.

Wrap cardigans, skirts, leggings and bodies

Sporty elements such as bodies and leggings are absolute must-have pieces of the Balletcore look. Wrap cardigans complete every ballerina look. Particularly breathable fabrics such as fine wool, silk and cotton are the focus here.

But chiffon and tulle also turn every look into an eye-catcher. Carrie Bradshaw’s iconic tulle skirt from the “Sex and the City” opening credits already ensured a comeback of the tutus as a fashion trend in the 1990s. But tulle also provides a little extravagance as a dress or blouse. In combination with casual everyday pieces such as jeans, boots, sneakers or pullovers, every piece of tulle becomes suitable for everyday use.
