It’s official: the Bambi Awards will not take place for the second time in a row in 2021 due to the corona pandemic.

The Bambi Gala will not take place in 2021 due to the corona pandemic. This was confirmed by a spokesman for the distributing media group “Hubert Burda Media” at the request of the news agency spot on news. First, the magazine “Clap” reported on the renewed cancellation.

“A glamorous show with thousands of guests and several hundred participants cannot be reliably and safely planned under the given circumstances,” says the statement. In 2020 the gala was canceled due to Corona.

The Bambi has been awarded since 1948 and is considered one of the most important media and television awards in Germany. Before the 25th anniversary it became known that Bambi and ARD, which has been broadcasting the award since the mid-1990s, are going their separate ways. After the award ceremony in 2019, the contract between Burda Media and the broadcasting association had expired and was not renewed.
