Taking advantage of today’s Nintendo Direct, Bandai Namco announced that the iconic Tales of Symphonia was going to be remastered. Scheduled to be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, it should see the light of day in the course of 2023. A release that should be rather expected, especially since the success of Tales of Arise released in September 2021.
A remaster that doesn’t appear to have undergone much transformation visually, at least from the trailer released. Nothing revolutionary, but the work on the 3D models of the time seems quite subtle. However, even if this new reissue of Tales of Symphonia should be based more on the PS3 version released in 2013 rather than the GameCube version, we hope that it will benefit from some improvements. We think in particular of the cinematics which would benefit from having a small update in terms of resolution for a better rendering on our current screens.
