Bandai Namco cancels several games in development

Like many studios and builders, Bandai Namco unveiled its latest financial report this week, the Japanese studio notes an 8.9% drop in sales compared to last year and a 96.5% drop in revenue. A complicated fiscal exercise, the studio must therefore take the bull by the horns.

Bandai Namco doesn’t cut corners for this, a representative said the studio has revised its product evaluation process, it thus cancels at least five games which were in development. Bandai Namco will now apply stricter processes to validate projects, games in production will be fewer. The Japanese studio also wants to optimize its game catalog with lighter (“casual”) titles launched around the world.

Unfortunately, Bandai Namco does not give the names of these canceled games. Were these titles already presented to the public, or simply internal projects in the early stages of design? Mystery. The studio can still rejoice with the very good sales of Tekken 8the fighting game is available from €59.49 on Amazon, Cdiscount, there Fnac And Gamesplanet.
