Bandai Namco: the name of the next big Dragon Ball game filed

When it is not a question of resellers orinsiders, it is very often the publishers themselves who indirectly leak their next games by registering them with classification organizations many months before they are even made official. Last month, Bandai Namco thus deposited a whole bunch of names, including the subtitle of SPYxANYA: Operation Memories which was made official a few days later. Well, he put it back on the side ofUSPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) with a title that will immediately speak to fans of the license Dragon Ball. Note that the source link requires you to return to the home page and perform the search yourself, which is why here is a screenshot:

So it’s “Sparking!” ZERO” which was filed on September 26 by Bandai Namco for a video game. Yes, we probably have the name of the next game there Budokai Tenkaichi made official last March, which would therefore follow Sparking! (Budokai Tenkaichi), Sparking! NEO (Budokai Tenkaichi 2) And Sparking! METEOR (Budokai Tenkaichi 3). Where this seems strange to us is that this filing was made in the United States. As in France and the rest of Europe, we rather expect it to be a “Budokai Tenkaichi 4” to ride the nostalgia, but maybe Bandai Namco decided to unify its subtitles and finally give us the same as in Japan. This is a shame, since the players of the Archipelago have been entitled all these years to a title in English while ours was in Japanese. The mysteries of marketing… On the other hand, a change for “Sparking!” ZERO” globally could also be an attempt to forget theUltimate Tenkaichi of 2011, which had absolutely no connection with its predecessors, being called Ultimate Blast in Japan.

All that remains now is to wait before an announcement from the publisher, which could why not come by the end of the year at Game Awards or during the Jump Festa, two meetings conducive to revelations. Long months could still pass without news of the game, as in the case of Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn which was only revealed nine months after the trademark was registered. Finally, we could perhaps hear about it as early as this week during the New York Comic-Consincea panel Dragon Ball will be organized there. In short, patience is essential in all cases.

Video games Dragon Ball are not lacking and you can for example obtain DBZ: Kakarotwhich is sold on Amazon from €23.79 for consoles and from €50.99 on PC at Gamesplanet.
