Bandai Namco unveils Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash

taking the form of a arena fighter in 2v2, Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash we will place fifteen characters between the mimines to have fun in the middle of emblematic 3D environments of the series. The Byking leg is quickly recognized in the trailer: slightly floating aerial gameplay, high particle rate impacts, particular emphasis on the visual idiosyncrasies of the original manga, everything is there. The official website describes the mechanics as follows: “Aim for new heights as you master the cursed powers of Sorcerers Jujutsu and Blights! Choose a partner and create unique combinations to both complement your playstyle and show off all of your character’s skills. Strengthen your cursed powers in battle, defeat your opponents and…expand your territory…?!

evil spirits

Lots of jargon for newbies. Jujutsu Kaisen is a series pre-published in Shonen Jump since 2017 where we mainly follow Yuji Itadori, a young high school student built like a Norman wardrobe, who accidentally becomes the recipient of the worst evil spirit of all time, the cannibal Sukuna. He sees himself enlisted by force in a school of exorcists to learn how to master his new powers. A simple, but effective pitch, which unfolds a system of cursed powers with complex and subtle rules reminiscent of the no of Hunter x Hunter. The story depicts the balance of power between exorcists and plagues, local terminology designating malevolent demons. As for “the extension of territory”, this mechanism consists in materializing an enclosed space where the technique of the launcher reigns supreme. Suffice to say that it promises beautiful pieces of gameplay at the end of the game.

In the absence of an in-game image, here is an illustration from the anime. The Jogo scourge of volcanoes has expanded its territory and spawned a parallel dimension made entirely of lava that it can manipulate at will.

And if the author Gege Akutami has shown the desire to conclude his manga soon, the animated adaptation is only about to receive its second season. Broadcast from July 6 on Crunchyroll, still produced by the Mappa studio, these convicts of drawing, season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen will begin with a long flashback to the youth of Satoru Gojo, overpowered and arrogant professor of exorcism, before head towards the Shibuya Incident. If you don’t know what that’s referring to, well, let’s just say that the Jujutsu community adores this arc as hands down the best in the series, and that should be enough to make your mouth water.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash will be released at an unknown date on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and Switch. 15 characters will be available at launch. Yes, this is very little compared to the average of the genre, but Byking must justify their endless season pass
