Bang & Olufsen launches the PlayStation/PC version of its Portal gaming headset

First reserved for Xbox gamers, the headset gaming high-end from Bang & Olufsen is finally opening up to consoles from Sony. Visually identical to the Xbox version, the new Portal incorporates active noise reduction and is Dolby Atmos for Headphones compatible, like its counterpart. It only stands out on two points: its connectivity and its autonomy.

Exit the Xbox Wireless communication protocol, the new Portal this time comes with a USB-C dongle allowing it to operate wirelessly (proprietary 2.4 GHz protocol) with PS4, PS5 and PC consoles. The headset obviously retains its Bluetooth connectivity, but also its wired connection thanks to its USB-C port and its mini-jack port.

The new Portal also takes a leap forward in terms of battery life, going from 24 to 42 hours in Bluetooth with noise reduction activated. In game also autonomy has been revised upwards, from 12 hours only with the Xbox Wireless protocol to 19 hours in wireless communication with the USB dongle.

The Beoplay Portal (PlayStation & PC) is already available at the same price as the Xbox version, ie €499.
